Arches landlord launches ‘love your local arches’ campaign to support local small businesses
The public is being encouraged to use their local arch businesses in August as part of a #loveyourlocalarches campaign to help those small businesses hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign will run throughout August, culminating in an Arch Day on 29 August 2020. It aims to increase the visibility of railway arch businesses within their communities and increase footfall to help thousands of small companies to recover from the pandemic and its impacts.
The Africa Centre continues to support the local community by refocusing their services online
The Africa Centre, which is based in Southwark, offers an inclusive space where African culture and diversity is celebrated. The charity’s premises at The Old Union Yard Arches would normally be a hub for cultural, social, educational, intellectual and entrepreneurial activity, but since lockdown these activities, which help fund the charity’s development, have come to a stop.

Railway arches have long been home to a diverse community of businesses, supporting start-ups and longer-standing companies with affordable and flexible spaces. The Arch Company's tenant, Sustainable Workspaces’ , located on Shand Street near to London Bridge station, is just one example.
